Small Business Book Club

The Small Business Book Club provides business owners with the opportunity to listen to authors talk about their small business development books.

Small business owners are some of the biggest consumers of business development books in Australia, especially as a means of furthering their management knowledge.

The series of Small Business Book Club events brings authors direct to the small business community in a casual, informative setting.

Local libraries offer many benefits to small business operators. As well as borrowing books, there is internet access plus handy research facilities, and access to current and past editions of newspapers and journals.

How it works
The Small Business Book Club differs from the usual book club format. There is no need to read the book before coming along and no pressure to contribute to the discussion.

The club is a forum for a featured author to discuss the concept of their book, read excerpts from it and talk about the ideas which motivated them to write it.

After reading an excerpt, the author talks about the broader concepts of the book and then takes questions.

Staff at the featured library give advice on how to get the most out of the library at no cost. They will list all the library's services and provide the names of all the business and personal development books available on the shelves.

There will be plenty of time to network with others and to talk over the topics raised by the author.

The where, when, how
A new author is featured each month at a different location throughout the year.

For upcoming authors and locations go to the Feature events page.
