Goal-seek analysis provides an evaluation of the changes you are considering to achieve a higher level of business performance.
On this page, goal-seek tests three variables:
- profitability
- asset turnover
- return on capital employed.
By entering the target figure and clicking on the ‘Calc results’ button, the financial analysis tool will calculate the value of the variable that will achieve the desired result.
Note: Zero values should be interpreted with caution.
A variable value of 0 typically implies the goal-seek target can either be achieved by reducing the variable to zero or the goal-seek cannot be achieved even if the variable is reduced to zero.
Chosen strategies could be evaluated by running a what-if analysis.
At any stage, click the ‘Start new’ button to return the opening page with all values reset to zero.
Clicking ‘Your actuals’ button in either of the what-if or goal-seek pages will take you to the start up page with the actual results.
Click the ‘Calc result’ button on the start up page to calculate the ratios for the business.
