What-if analysis tests the direct effects of adopting a business strategy.

Any of the values can be altered to see differing impacts.

What-if analysis can be made by either:

  • evaluating the direct effect on any variable of the business strategy, or
  • evaluating the price-volume trade-off in a marketing scenario.

Some examples of assessing the financial effect of a changing a value are:

  • better cost control – maintaining sales volume while cutting fixed costs
  • efficient procurement – lowering variable costs.

Based on the chosen business scenario or strategy, enter target figures into the appropriate fields.
