European Communities Statistics

This is the site for the Statistical Office of the European Communities. It contains on-line indicators, statistical news, and press releases. It also offers access to their Statistical Information Service, subscription to which allows you to examine a host of statistics on the EU.

France - Statistics

This is the site for the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies. While the main site is in French, there is a range of statistics available in English covering France’s population, GDP, financial transactions, household expenditure, education, labour, tourism and so on.

Germany - Statistics

This is the site for the Federal Statistical Office of Germany. It provides basic data covering population, employment, prices, education, culture, health, tourism, trade, the elections and so on. It also contains short-term indicators and monthly and quarterly economic results as well as press releases from the Bureau and links to other sites.

Italy

This site is maintained by the Italian Embassy in Washington. It provides information on:

1. Political, economic and cultural events in the US being held by Italian organisations. It also gives the details for those Italian organisations and agencies in the US.
2. General Information which includes information on the government, its structure and activities, Italian history, literature, museums, festivals, language and so on. More importantly, you can access the Italian White and Yellow Pages and it has a section "Doing Business in Italy", which includes a country commercial guide and gives information on Italian Trace Commission and Italian Chambers of Commerce.
3. Economic and statistical data from the National Institute of Statistics of Italy including statistics on population, health, education, tourism, economy etc. In addition, you can access "The Italian Economy – The Main Indicators" a monthly publication by the Bank of Italy.
4. A virtual newsstand that provides access to news sources in both English and Italian.
