European Bank for Reconstruction and Development
This is the site for the European bank for Reconstruction and Development. This bank provides finance for the economic transition and promotes private and entrepreneurial initiatives in Central and Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. The website provides information on the EBRD and its activities, its methods and policies and on procurement opportunities for EBRD-funded contracts.
European Investment Bank
This is the homepage of the European Investment bank, the European Union’s long-term lending institution. It provides information on its support for development aid policies in over 120 countries as well as information on the EIB’s objectives, structure and resources, projects and loans as well as a "Guide to tendering for contracts".
IMF Directory of Economic, Commodity and Development Organisations
This is the International Monetary Fund’s Directory of Economic, Commodity and Development Organisations. It contains a directory of over 120 organisations. A brief introduction to the structure, functions and responsibilities of each organisation is provided along with their contact details. This site can be searched by keyword.
World Bank
This site for the World Bank provides general information on the Bank, its activities, functions, purpose and goals. It also contains country profiles, country data, the specifics of regional initiatives and strategies
By clicking on the "For Businesses" tab at the bottom of the screen, you can then access information on the Bank’s project financing instruments, risk management instruments, Investment Marketing Services and Advisory Services. It is also possible to look at the Bank’s procurement policy and download a subscription form to complete for the United Nation's Development Business, which contains procurement opportunities.
It is also possible to register on the DACON Register as a consulting firm interested in working on Bank-assisted projects. The Register is used to assess the qualifications of firms and to help borrowers establish shortlists of firms. The website also provides detailed guidance about bidding documentation as well as "A Guide to International Business Opportunities".
