Exchange Rates both current and historical (up to 2,000 days) is provided by an US-based company, Oanda, for 164 currencies for free. This site also provides currency forecasts. The currency information is available in English, French, Italian, German, Swedish and Portuguese.

Some of the other services provided by Oanda include:

1. Cheat Sheet for Travellers which provides wallet-sized currency conversion table for reference while travelling abroad;
2. Interactive daily table – which allows to generate a table with currencies of choice against home currency.
3. FX History allows the user to obtain historical exchange rates for any currency pair.
4. Foreign Exchange protocol - allows retrieved currency data to be integrated into any online applications with prices converted into another currency seamlessly.
5. Currency Calculator – you can view exchange rates for 26 countries at a time by entering any amount in the text box for home currency.

Some of the above services are provided free while others are provided on a fee-based subscription basis.
