The New South Wales Government's New Export Opportunities Program (Export Development) helps rapidly growing small businesses to undertake export preparation and develop export market entry strategies. It provides export-ready small business operators assistance to enter overseas markets to build profits, jobs and exports. For those business operators who are committed to exporting but don't know how, Export Development may give you the skills and tools to achieve your export goals.
Export Development provides established business owners committed to exporting and who are export-ready access to an experienced Business Development Manager from the Department of State and Regional Development (DSRD).
If your business is growing and is ready for export, contact us to explore this opportunity. If your business meets the Export Development's eligibility criteria, a Business Development Manager will visit your premises and discuss ways in which DSRD can help you.
Focused Help for Your Business
This program offers a tailored service to meet the specific and varied needs of your business. Our involvement may include:
initial free business growth consultation by a DSRD Business Development Manager;
participation in trade missions/export market visits; and
one-on-one consultancy subsidy to partially offset the cost of employing a private sector consultant to develop an export development plan.

Free Business Growth Consultation
All eligible businesses can access a free and confidential consultation with a DSRD Business Development Manager. These experienced business development professionals act as a sounding board on growth options for your business and will identify Government and private sector organisations to help you realise your business goals.
Financial Assistance
Export Development provides limited financial assistance to eligible companies.
Under the one-on-one consultancy option, terms of reference for the project need to be agreed between the client and the DSRD Business Development Manager before the project starts.
The business owner may select a consultant who submits a proposal for the project. Approval for the consultant to commence the project is at the discretion of DSRD and no work should be undertaken prior to approval.
Supported projects may include:
overseas market research;
export preparation activities; and
export market planning and market entry strategies.
