The Small Business Regulation Review Taskforce has completed its review of the regulatory burden on the business and professional services sector. This sector includes businesses which offer services in architecture, engineering, law, accounting, advertising, market research, management consulting, computer system design, employment, travel, office administration, building cleaning and pest control.
Representatives of CPA Australia (NSW), the Association of Consulting Engineers Australia, the Australian Federation of Travel Agents, the Australian Information Industry Association, the Royal Australian Institute of Architects and the Recruitment and Consulting Services Association joined the Taskforce to assist in the conduct of this review.
The Taskforce believes that the best way to find out about small business regulation is by asking small business owners and operators. Businesses in the sector were invited to provide information and ideas about regulation on the professional and business services sector, in particular about ways in which it could be made easier for businesses to comply with regulation.
The report is pending submission to the Government.
