Review of the Manufacturing (Fabricated Metal Products, Machinery Equipment and Furniture) Sector

The Small Business Regulation Review Taskforce has completed its review of the regulatory burden on the metal manufacturing sector.  This sector includes businesses which manufacture fabricated metal products, transport equipment, machinery and other equipment such as computer and electronic equipment and furniture.

Representatives of AusBiotech, the Australian Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association and the Furnishing Industry Association of Australia joined the Taskforce to assist in the conduct of this review.

The Taskforce believes that the best way to find out about small business regulation is by asking small business owners and operators.  Businesses and industry associations in the sector were invited to provide information and ideas about regulation in the metal manufacturing sector, in particular about ways in which it could be made easier for businesses to comply with regulation.
