Franchise Agreement

Your franchise agreement is a contract between you and your franchisor. Once you have signed the agreement, you will be legally bound to its terms and conditions.

It is important that you read the agreement carefully and make sure you understand all the terms and the legal effect of what you are agreeing to. It is essential that you seek legal advice to explain what you are signing and how the terms will affect you legally.

Every franchise agreement is different, although their general purpose is the same. All franchise agreements will state the rights and responsibilities of the franchisor and franchisee. They will deal with fees, territory, site selection, lease arrangements, termination, renewal and the length of the franchise agreement. For more information on the Franchise Agreement please read the Franchisee Manual (ACCC).
